Organizing farmers

Our farmers receive a detailed schedule about our exports for the year. The schedule derives from our customers’ needs and other factors we consider using our experience. It will include the average quantities to be needed, as well as varieties, size and the timeframe to be delivered in.

Provide quality seeds from certified producers

After reviewing the schedule the farmers will settle on a planting strategy and decide the varieties they want to grow. We have to approve their decisions as well, according to their plot locations as it will affect the timeframe of production. Once a farmer has been approved we provide them with certified potato seeds.

Give guidelines for growing strategies

Each variety has a specific planting/growing approach depending on the results expected. Our farmers are given the essential guidelines to attain maximum crop efficiency. Along with the guidelines, we request from them to be certified with Global G.A.P. standards which guarantee to customers the quality of our products.                      

Supervise test varieties

Each year we dedicated one or two producers to test specific varieties of potato seeds. Through our testing control procedure, we take in consideration key factors that will help us improve our service and quality. Key aspects would be maturity time, youth development, yield efficiency, dormancy and resistances/sensitivities. The end results would be reviewed by the board and taken into consideration for future crop productions.

Quality Certifications

Our Scope and mission is quality products. To achieve that we have acquired standards that are internationally approved and are used by organizations that are serious about providing high quality standards.

ISO 22000:2005

ISO 22000:2005 specifies requirements for a food safety management system where an organization in the food chain needs to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe at the time of human consumption.
It is applicable to all organizations, regardless of size, which are involved in any aspect of the food chain and want to implement systems that consistently provide safe products. The means of meeting any requirements of ISO 22000:2005 can be accomplished through the use of internal and/or external resources.

ISO 22000:2005 specifies requirements to enable an organization

•   to plan, implement, operate, maintain and update a food safety management system aimed at providing products that, according to their intended use, are safe for the consumer,
•   to demonstrate compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory food safety requirements,
•   to evaluate and assess customer requirements and demonstrate conformity with those mutually agreed customer requirements that relate to food safety, in order to enhance customer satisfaction,
•   to effectively communicate food safety issues to their suppliers, customers and relevant interested parties in the food chain,
•   to ensure that the organization conforms to its stated food safety policy,
•   to demonstrate such conformity to relevant interested parties, and
•   to seek certification or registration of its food safety management system by an external organization, or make a self-assessment or self-declaration of conformity to ISO 22000:2005.


ISO 9001:2008

ISO 9001:2008 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization
•    needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and
•    aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
All requirements of ISO 9001:2008 are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations, regardless of type, size and product provided.
Where any requirement(s) of ISO 9001:2008 cannot be applied due to the nature of an organization and its product, this can be considered for exclusion.
Where exclusions are made, claims of conformity to ISO 9001:2008 are not acceptable unless these exclusions are limited to requirements within Clause 7, and such exclusions do not affect the organization's ability, or responsibility, to provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Processing/Packing

The farmers will deliver the potatoes directly to our processing facility. A sample is taken from each batch and if the product is suitable we proceed to the processing stage. The product will go through our sorting line and our expert employees will handpick out any defects. Then a machine will divide the product into sizes which are always predefined. The packaging is done at the end of each size line.

Storing

The last stage will be storing the end product. We have the latest technology in storing equipment which is electronically monitored 24/7. The products are stored under strict conditions in order to achieve maximum lifespan and quality. Our goal is that we do not keep any products in the storing facilities more than two days at crop seasons. At periods that production is not available we use cold rooms to maintain continues flow, using standards internationally approved.

  • Logistics/Sealines

We are outsourcing our logistics to trusted associates that comply with our standards and meet theirs as well. We are able to provide any information needed for our associates.
